We are delighted to announce that Sign Up Now CIC has successfully secured £20,000 in funding through the People Powered Places programme to deliver our Safe & Seen project in Newham.

This is a huge milestone for our organisation and an important step towards creating a more inclusive community where Deaf and hearing people can learn, connect, and thrive together.

​

The funding will enable us to deliver a range of free activities designed to improve communication, wellbeing, and community inclusion. These include Coffee, Signs & Butterflies sessions, Deaf awareness workshops, community engagement activities, and five fully funded Signature-accredited British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 course places for eligible Newham residents.

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted for Safe & Seen during the People Powered Places Big Vote. Your support and belief in our vision helped make this project a reality, and we are truly grateful.

We also extend our thanks to our partners, volunteers, and everyone who has supported Sign Up Now CIC from the very beginning. Together, we are helping to break down communication barriers and create more opportunities for Deaf and hard of hearing people.

The journey is only just beginning. We look forward to welcoming both Deaf and hearing residents to our upcoming activities and continuing to build a more connected and inclusive Newham.
