Safe & Seen is an initiative by Sign Up Now CIC to improve safety, health, well-being, and empowerment outcomes for Deaf and hard of hearing people aged 16 to 60 in Newham. The project offers practical workshops, mental health support, youth skills development, basic BSL taster sessions for hearing residents, targeted parenting support, and a fully funded Signature-accredited BSL Level 1 training for 10 eligible participants. This creates a safer, more inclusive Newham where Deaf and hearing communities connect and thrive.

PrimaryBeneficiaries: Deaf and hard of hearing Newham residents aged 16-60, especially from underrepresented groups including Black, Asian, low-income, LGBTQ+, migrant, and older adults.

 

Secondary Beneficiaries: Hearing allies, parents, teachers, shopkeepers, youth workers, and health professionals.
